Our Wedding Journey

On September 24, 2011, I married my best friend. The months of planning leading up to that day were stressful, yet fun. All the projects, DIY craziness, and ideas that became reality were well worth it on that day. They did not make the day special nor did they make the day memorable. The very nature of a wedding day makes the day special and memorable. Instead all the projects, crafts, and ideas helped to make the planning process memorable and special. What fun would it have been to just buy a dress, just pay a florist, just hire a caterer, and just hire a wedding planner? I'll answer for you...none.

Don't get me wrong. I'm glad that I'm on this side of the wedding and no longer have to think about planning, coordinating jewelry, picking out ties, deciding on where the guest book should be, etc. But looking back, I cherish the time leading up to that faithful day.

Our wedding day was perfect...except for the fact that Wesley and I didn't really get any good candid pictures together. The pictures our loved ones took of us cutting and eating the cake are less than flattering, and apparently I'm not awesome at looking decent in candid photos. Also, the one picture of us alone was ruined by my tired smile. I was happy! Really! My cheeks were just exhausted. Oh, well. We'll just have to crop out a friend for now, and wait for the professional shots...Sorry, Naoms :)
